With tons of fun and gorgeous homes on the Vrbo or Airbnb market, there’s plenty to book during your weekend in Seward. We love The Burly Man Bunkhouse, run by the owner of Mountain Men In Alaska. This cozy little house has great amenities, and fabulous and tasteful photographs of our favorite Alaskan men adorning the walls. Make sure to book early, as these listings fill up quickly.

Where To Eat

One of the best parts of traveling is trying out new food and restaurants. Downtown Seward has so many delicious restaurants, that no matter what you’re in the mood for you’ll find something that will satisfy. Just a quick walk will bring you to an amazing array of fabulous places to eat!

Salmon, halibut, and scallops dot the menu with dreamy preparations. With a focus on farm to table, and using Alaskan ingredients as much as possible, this is a great place to head to during your weekend in Seward!

Sea Bean Cafe

The Sea Bean Cafe Facebook

The Sea Bean Cafe in downtown Seward is the perfect breakfast and lunch spot. Open daily in the summertime from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., this great little cafe whips up a variety of tasty options like gluten free waffles, smoothie bowls, soups, and sandwiches. Don’t forget their amazing pastry and coffee selection! To truly see everything they do you’ll have to visit for yourself. Keep yourself up to date with their weekly specials on their Facebook page!

What To Do

We all love Exit Glacier and the stunning whale watch and glacier tours. But we wanted to mix it up a little and offer something a little different for those looking to experience their weekend in Seward a little more intimately. If you’re traveling with kids, don’t forget to check out the Alaska SeaLife Center!

Hike Caines Head Trail

Ruthanne Vaughan AllTrails

This gorgeous trail follows along Resurrection Bay before ending at Caines Head Recreation Area. It’s 14 miles of round trip stunning views, beach and forest crossing, and old military bunkhouses. Feel free to turn around at any time to make the hike a little easier. You do have to time your hike to the tides if you’re going to go all the way out; some crossing areas can only be accessed during low tide. Make sure to keep an eye on the clock, you don’t want to be stranded!

Stand Up Paddle At Aialik Bay Glacier

Liquid Adventures website

Get up close and personal with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Liquid Adventures will fit you with a dry suit and take you in a water taxi to Aialik Bay Glacier. Casually paddle past thousand foot waterfalls and dodge the ice studding the bay. Get up close (but not too close) to the gorgeous tidewater glacier before wrapping up your day with lunch on the boat.

Wherever your travels take you, you can be sure that a summer weekend in Seward is the perfect way to spend your free time. With great food, gorgeous places to stay, and a wide variety of things to do, Seward will satisfy your summer cravings!
