Needing a quick and easy way to prepare either a fresh fillet or a fillet from last years catch? One of our go-to methods for preparing our salmon is very quick and easy, requiring minimal prep and cleanup!
What you'll need:
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Rub With Love (order at link at the bottom of the article!)
- Salt & Pepper
- Extra Heat (Optional)
- Cedar Grilling Boards/Planks
Before you prep your fish, start by soaking your grilling board for 30 minutes to 1 hour in a sink of water. You may have to weight the board in the water to ensure a good soak. Once your boards are soaking, begin to prepare your fish.
On a cutting board, remove the skin of the fish and discard. Now, give the top of the fillet a sprinkle of olive oil. Rub the oil over the entire surface of the fish. This ensures all your season will stick to the salmon ! We like to give a quick sprinkling of fresh ground salt and pepper to the fillet before applying the rub.
Take a handful of the Rub With Love and start to rub it onto the top of the fillet. If you like a bit of extra heat to your dish we suggest you lightly sprinkle a small amount ___of on top of the rub.
Now that your Salmon is prepared, remove your soaked board from the water, pat dry. Transfer your fillet to the grilling board. Grill your salmon on a preheated grill at a high heat for 12-14 minutes.
Test with a fork, if it pulls away and flakes easily it is done. Do not over cook! You will be surprised at the flavor that the cedar plank gives to the fish. The smoke from the board, along with the rub, can turn this into a staple at your home as well! Give it a try!
