10 Of Our Favorite Alaska Inns To Snuggle Up In During Winter

Late winter in Alaska is the absolute perfect time to get in your favorite winter activities, while enjoying the beautiful sunshine and slightly warmer weather. The temperatures will still drop at night, so we rounded up some of our favorite Alaskan inns to snuggle up in after a day of playing in the snow!

1. Mount Aurora Lodge, Fairbanks, Alaska

This lodge has incredible reviews on both Yelp and TripAdvisor. Warm and cozy, they offer many types of accommodations at this 90 year old bunkhouse and log cabin. Combining the rustic atmosphere of old Alaska, with rich modern amenities for you to use, this is the perfect place to cap off your snow day!

2. Denali Overlook Inn, Talkeetna, Alaska

The Denali Overlook Inn in Talkeetna is a wonderful place to warm up after a long day exploring the backcountry! This four story timber lodge has seven gorgeous rooms, many with views of Denali. The main living area has a Great Room staffed with comfortable sofas and a cozy wood burning stove. With plenty of nearby cross country skiing, snow machining, or snow shoeing, this is one of our favorite Alaskan inns to cozy up in for the evening!

3. Seward Front Row B & B, Seward, Alaska

Seward Front Row B & B is a stunning, bay front lodging option. With a cozy wood stove in the shared living area, and a hot tub outside, this gorgeous Alaskan inn has exactly what you're looking for. Many of the rooms look right out over the waters of the bay, which means plenty of marine wildlife spotting!

4. Homer Inn and Spa, Homer, Alaska

Homer Inn and Spa is a boutique Alaskan inn situated right on the water of Katchemak Bay. This beautiful little place offers quiet and privacy. There is even a day spa located on the premises where you can relax further! With king sized beds, and a bubbling hot tub overlooking the water, this inn makes for a perfect winter getaway.

4. Ski Inn, Girdwood, Alaska

The Ski Inn is a charming little inn located in downtown Girdwood. This cozy lodging is in the center of all the winter fun in Girdwood! You can take the shuttle up to Alyeska Resort to snowboard or downhill ski, or head on over to Moose Meadow for some great cross country skiing action. This cute little inn is just steps to restaurants and the Mercantile, and is perfectly situated for ending your winter night in style.

5. A Goldenview Bed and Breakfast, Anchorage, Alaska

A Goldenview Bed and Breakfast is an award winning Alaskan inn located on the Anchorage hillside. The views are stunning, and the rooms are luxurious. This lodging is equipped with a private entrance, and a warm, relaxing outdoor hot tub. Situated remotely, this is a perfect place to slow down and relax after a wonderful winter day.

6. Colony Suites, Palmer, Alaska

Colony Suites is an adorable downtown Palmer retreat. Each room is equipped with brand new quartz and marble upgrades, as well as luxury linens. After an exciting day backcountry skiing up in Hatcher Pass, you can relax in one of these cozy rooms and enjoy the close proximity of the fabulous nearby restaurants.

7. Sheep Mountain Lodge, Sutton, Alaska

Sheep Mountain Lodge is a collection of cozy private cabins and guesthouse rooms in the main lodge. The snug lodging is a perfect place to relax after a day long hike on Matanuska Glacier, or exploring the backcountry by snow machine. The area is dark enough that if you're lucky, you'll be aurora watching on your front porch!

8. The Historic Skagway Inn, Skagway, Alaska

The Historic Skagway Inn, built in 1897, is a charming Alaskan inn filled with antiques and special touches. Each room is artfully arranged with beautiful period pieces. The rooms themselves are filled with natural winter light, making this a lovely stop to rest up during a winter fun filled weekend. You can head downstairs to have dinner at Olivia's Bistro before relaxing in your comfortable room.

9. The Lodge at Black Rapids, Delta Junction, Alaska

The Lodge at Black Rapids is a stunning modern structure of luxury in the Alaskan backcountry. Located off the Richardson Highway, this gorgeous place allows you to sink into the peacefulness of the wilderness. With incredible views, including the ability to watch the northern lights from your bed, this comfortable lodge is a must-do on your winter weekend itinerary!

10. Robe Lake Lodge, Valdez, Alaska

Robe Lake Lodge in Valdez, Alaska is the heli-skiers dream inn. This awesome lodging offers private cabins, or suites in the main building. With a generous great room, cozy suites, and plenty of places to stash your skis, we highly recommend relaxing here after a day shredding powder in the backcountry. This beauty also comes with a lovely outdoor hot tub, to soak those tired muscles in!

They all look wonderful and I would happily stay in any one of them. The views are all amazing and I can’t wait to get back to Alaska some day for another amazing holiday

Decent list. Black Rapids Lodge is not in back country; it’s on the Richardson Highway about an hour south of Delta. Aurora Lodge in FAI you eat what they offer; no menu.
