A Homer Photo Tour: 15 Images of One of America’s Most Scenic Towns
by Cecil Sanders
Homer, Alaska, has always been one of my favorite towns in the Last Frontier. Alaska, being the largest state in the union, has the smallest amount of incorporated towns, and the fewest number of roads. But what Alaska lacks in quantity, it leads the rest of country in quality. Of all of the towns I have been to in the state, Homer ranks as one of my favorite places to visit. Its wildlife, seaside charm, unique mountain peaks jutting from the sea, and vibrant sunsets and sunrises are many reasons to return time and again. Enjoy this Homer photo tour of scenes I’ve captured while frequenting the idyllic seaside town of Homer and its surrounding area.

Coal Bay blends in with the horizon on a cloudy morning. At first glance, it’s hard to notice that the small dots on the horizon are hundreds of otters.
A fishing vessel with skiff in tow departs the harbor heading out into Kachemak Bay on a cold spring morning.

No Homer photo collection would be complete without the famous Salty Dawg Saloon.
